希臘的海灘 Beaches in Greece

Paradise beach(天堂海灘) Probably the most popular beach on Mykonos island. Paradise developed its fame and contemporary name through its discovery by the "Hippies" and other world traveling backpackers of the 60's. Nude sunbathing tolerant, this beautiful large expance of beach caters primarily to the young set offering a well organised cafeteria, snack bars, beach bars, mini shops and discos. Together with water sports and a professional diving center Paradise also has the most established camping facilities on the island. Transportation to and from the beach is possible through direct frequent bus service from town or boat service from Plati Gialos. Super Paradise beach (超級天堂海灘) Super Paradise Mykonos: Super Paradise Beach is located right next to Paradise Beach and is reachable by taxi-boat (regular boat services are available from Platis Yialos) and local bus.It is less organized than neighbouring Paradise and has beautiful crystalline waters and soft golden sand. Super Paradise is the most famous homosexual beach of Greece, attracting homos and heterosexuals from all over the world. Akrotiri(紅色海灘) Not far from the ancient sites at Akrotiri, is the red beach with the same name. You couldn't ask for a more breathtaking setting for a swim. Soaring red lava cliffs which drop right to the black sandy shore and into the clear blue sea make for a majestic setting and one to enjoy. Meals and snacks can be found at a nearby hotel and if you like excursions, boats leave from Akrotiri to other beaches further down the southwest coast.

Kamari(黑色海灘) The beautiful black sandy beach of Kamari stretches for five miles in length along the eastern coast of the island. You don't have to walk far to find taverns on the seafront as well as restaurants, hotels, tourist shops and entertainment spots. A number of water sports are also available like water skiing, windsurfing and paddleboats. From Fira you can take the bus to Kamari with frequent service.

Matala(洞穴海灘) Matala offers a spectacular setting of the caves (tombs) cut out of the live rock, and its colorful history to go along the beach. As such, it is a good destination for those who travel in southern Crete. The caves along the steep limestone rock were created as a Roman and Byzantine cemetery, and during the 60's they functioned as the dwellings of hippies who traveled from afar to become part of the Matala commune. Joni Mitchell is probably the most famous inhabitant of the Matala high caves during this time. Today, the Matala caves are a tourist attraction as an archaeological site and entrance to the caves would set you back two Euro, and the crowd that inhabits the beach has no relation to the free spirited hippies of the 60's. Malia Malia lies at a distance of about 30 Km east of Heraklion. It is one of the mass-tourism spots on the island. Big hotels, wild nightlife, video bars, great quantities of alkool, international cuisine. A beach and party Mecca. Not for those looking for a traditional way of life, virgin beaches and tranquillity. The beaches are great and clean (but crowded), and the competition brings quality up and prices down. An around the clock meeting point. You can find whatever you need around the clock...

Hersonissos We refer to Hersonissos as one but it consists of several small beaches and villages and the main tourist destinations of the area. Hersonissos consists of Limin Hersonisou (Port Hersonissos), Hersonissos, Koutouloufari, Piskopiano, Anissaras, Potamies, Avdou, Gonies and Kera at a distance of about 25 Km from Heraklion. Today is mostly famous for the beaches and the wild nightlife. If you are after the dancing clubs, lots of people and alcool, then Hersonissos is the place for you...
